He had done all this for a girl whom he could neither regard or esteem. Her heart did whisper, that he had done it for her.Jane Austen
The novel follows Elizabeth Bennet, a strong minded young woman who is determined not to let her mother’s antics control her fate in marriage and love.
When Darcy and his friend Bingley arrive at Longbourn sparks immediately fly between Jane and Bingly, but for Elizabeth her own prejudice and Darcy’s excessive pride seems to prolong their feelings. It is only once all the barriers, which deny Elizabeth and Darcy from pursuing a relationship, are conquered gives the reader a chance to hope for a future of love in the novel between numerous couples.
I cannot recommend this book more! Austen’s ability to influence the readers emotions gives a sense of journey within the protagonist of the book and the reader themselves.
